Remove yourself from Yellowbook

Estimated time: 5–10 minutes. Difficulty: easy.

Steps

  1. Search yellowbook.com/people for your name and note the age and city on the matching record.
  2. Yellowbook has no removal form of its own; its people search links straight to BeenVerified. Open the Yellowbook / BeenVerified opt-out search.
  3. Search by first and last name plus state, find your record and click "Proceed to Opt Out".
  4. Enter an email address, solve the CAPTCHA and click "Send Verification Email". A throwaway address is fine.
  5. Open the email and click "Verify Opt-Out". Nothing is processed until you do.
  6. BeenVerified says removal completes within 24–72 hours; search Yellowbook again then to confirm.
Yellowbook's people search is a white-label BeenVerified page, so the one BeenVerified opt-out covers Yellowbook, BeenVerified, NumberGuru and FreePhoneTracer. Sister sites PeopleLooker, PeopleSmart and NeighborWho need their own. Search for every spelling and prior city — each record is a separate opt-out — and expect your data to drift back within a few months.
