Remove yourself from US Search

Estimated time: 10 minutes. Difficulty: easy.

Steps

  1. Open the US Search opt-out page. US Search is owned by PeopleConnect, so you are sent to the PeopleConnect Suppression Center.
  2. Enter an email you can open right now, agree to the terms and click Continue.
  3. Open the verification email from PeopleConnect and click the link within 15 minutes — it expires.
  4. Enter your date of birth, tick the verification box and click Continue, then enter your full legal name. You may also be asked for a one-time code sent by email or SMS.
  5. Find your record, set "Desired Behavior" to "Suppressed" and click Save. No ID upload.
  6. Allow 48 hours (up to a few weeks for every site to catch up), then search www.ussearch.com for yourself to confirm.
One PeopleConnect suppression covers US Search, Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, ZabaSearch and PeopleFinder.com — you do not need to repeat it per site. "Suppressed" is not deletion: PeopleConnect can re-collect you from public records, so re-check a couple of times a year. They do not accept opt-outs submitted by third-party services on your behalf.
