Remove yourself from SearchPublicRecords

Estimated time: 5–10 minutes. Difficulty: easy.

Steps

  1. Open the SearchPublicRecords privacy-requests page (also "Remove Me From Website" in the footer of searchpublicrecords.com). If you land in a Cloudflare waiting room, leave the tab open — it refreshes itself.
  2. Request type: choose "Do Not Sell My Info" (this is the one that removes you from their People Reports). Fill in first name, last name, city, state, ZIP, age range and a "Confirmation Email" you can open now, tick the human check and click "Continue".
  3. Pick your record from the matches and click "Remove". Got more than one match that is you? Remove each.
  4. A confirmation email should arrive within 15 minutes. Open it and click the verification link (a "Delete My Info" request asks you to reply to the email instead). No phone or ID.
  5. They send a second email once the opt-out is processed. Allow 24–48 hours, up to a week, then search for yourself again.
SearchPublicRecords is run by Civil Data Research on the same platform as PublicDataCheck (National Data Analytics) — identical form, separate database, so do each site separately. The free teaser search still lists people who have not opted out, even though the full report is paid. Records reappear after public-record refreshes; re-check every few months.
