Remove yourself from Searchbug

Steps

  1. Search searchbug.com for your name and open your listing.
  2. Click "Remove" at the top right of the listing, tick the box, type the verification code shown and click Remove. Repeat for each listing. That handles the free records.
  3. To block your data from paid reports too, use the "Do Not Sell My Info" link in the footer (or the Searchbug contact form). Set Reason to "Opt-Out Request" (or "CCPA Request" if you live in California) and Subject to "Do Not Sell".
  4. Fill in name, email and phone, put the address as it appears on your ID in the description, and attach a photo of your driver's licence or other government ID — Searchbug says it cannot match records without it. Enter the security code and submit.
  5. Watch your inbox for Searchbug's confirmation email. No phone call is required.
  6. Re-search after three days for the free listing; allow up to 45 days for the paid-report block.
Two tiers: the free listings come off with the Remove button, no questions asked. Searchbug's paid "premium" records are a different matter — its CCPA page says opting those out requires a government ID or court document uploaded with the request, and it warns CCPA requests "may take up to 45 days". Free listings are usually gone within 72 hours. It rebuilds from public records, so re-check quarterly.
