Remove yourself from PeopleWhizr.com

Estimated time: 15–20 minutes plus a wait for ID review. Difficulty: hard.

Steps

  1. Open the PeopleWhizr "Remove My Info" page. Yes, the page is branded PeopleWhiz — peoplewhizr.com is the same operator's second site.
  2. Under "Start By Searching Your Public Records", click the "Here" link. Enter your first name, last name, city and state and click "Search Now".
  3. Find your listing in the results (check age, past addresses, relatives) and click "That's Me".
  4. Enter an email address you can open right now and click "Next". A throwaway address is fine.
  5. Pick an identity-verification method. The page is blunt about it: "ID required. You'll need to provide proof of your identity before we can complete your request." Upload a photo of a government ID (cover everything but your name and photo), or choose fax or mail. Solve the CAPTCHA and click "Next".
  6. Open the email from PeopleWhiz and click "Confirm Opt-out". You will then get a notice that the opt-out is "in process".
  7. The site quotes up to 5 business days once all the required information is in, then 24–48 hours for servers to refresh. Clear your cache and search peoplewhizr.com for yourself to confirm.
Same operator as PeopleWhiz.com, but each site has its own removal form — do both. The older clones (peoplewhiz.net, peoplewhized.net, peoplewhizr.net, peoplewizard.net) are now parked domains and can be ignored. Listings can reappear after a data refresh, so re-check in a few months.
