Remove yourself from NeighborReport

Estimated time: 10 minutes. Difficulty: easy.

Steps

  1. Go to neighbor.report and type your street address into the search box. Pick your address from the dropdown — the site is organised by address, not by name.
  2. On the address page, find the "People who live at" / "Names" section and click your name to open your profile.
  3. Copy the profile URL from the address bar and note the address shown under "Current Residential Address". You'll need both.
  4. Scroll to the footer and click "Opt Out/Report a Violation", or open the NeighborReport removal form directly. The record URL is often pre-filled if you came from your profile.
  5. Enter your name, an email address, the record URL and the residential address, tick one or more reasons for the request, solve the CAPTCHA and click "Next step". No phone number or ID is required.
  6. Click "Remove" next to each piece of information you want gone (name, phone numbers — take everything), then click "Apply". A confirmation message appears on screen; the listing normally vanishes within 24 hours, sometimes up to a week.
NeighborReport lists you under every address it has seen you at, and the form only clears the URL you gave it. Search old addresses too and repeat. Their data comes from public records that get refreshed, so re-check every few months.
