Remove yourself from MyHeritage

Steps

  1. Not a member, but you show up in MyHeritage's records collections? Search myheritage.com/research for your name, open the record and copy its URL. There is no self-service form for non-members: email privacy@myheritage.com, include the URL and ask for the record to be deleted under your privacy rights. MyHeritage says legitimate deletion requests are carried out promptly; expect an email exchange, not an instant result.
  2. Have an account and just want to be unfindable? Sign in, click your name in the top-right corner and choose "My Privacy".
  3. Untick "Allow people to find and view my public profile". Then, under your family site, click "Access" and untick "Allow guests to find my site" (tick "Apply the above settings to all my family sites" if you have several).
  4. Still in the site settings, open "Content" and untick "Include family tree in MyHeritage historical search engines"; untick any photo albums you don't want indexed. Click the orange "Save" button.
  5. Want everything gone? Follow the account deletion instructions and click "delete my account". It permanently wipes every family site, tree, photo and activated DNA kit, and cancels any paid subscription. Download your GEDCOM, photos and raw DNA first if you want them.
  6. Re-search the records collections after a couple of weeks to confirm.
Hiding your profile only hides what you uploaded. Your name in a relative's public tree or in an imported public-records collection stays until you email privacy@myheritage.com about that specific record. Deleting your account cannot be undone.
