Remove yourself from InmatesSearcher
Estimated time: 5–10 minutes. Difficulty: easy.
Steps
- Open the InmatesSearcher opt-out page — it is the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Info" link at the bottom of inmatessearcher.com.
- Enter your first name and last name, pick your state from the dropdown and click "Search". Solve the CAPTCHA if it appears. You may get a couple of pop-up questions (age range, places lived) to narrow the results — answer them.
- Find your record in the list and click the green "Continue" button next to it.
- Fill in the removal form: email address, full name, street address and phone number, matching what the listing shows. Solve the CAPTCHA and click "Submit". You get an on-screen "request received" message.
- Open the "OptOut Request Confirmation" email from InmatesSearcher and click "Click to Remove your information". A confirmation page means you are done. No ID; the phone number is a form field, they do not call or text it.
- InmatesSearcher does not quote a removal time; most requests clear within a day or two, and the legal outer limit is 45 days. Re-search after a week.
InmatesSearcher is one of a family of paid background-report sites (PublicSearcher, SecretInfo, SealedRecords, TruthRecord, WeInform, MugshotLook, PrivateReports) that share the same opt-out flow. Do not assume one request covers the others — search each site and opt out wherever you appear. Use a throwaway email: the form wants an address and phone number, and you are handing them to a data broker. Records reappear after database refreshes; if yours is back, opt out again or email support@inmatessearcher.com.
