Remove yourself from FreePhoneTracer

Estimated time: 5–10 minutes. Difficulty: easy.

Steps

  1. FreePhoneTracer has no removal form of its own. Open the BeenVerified opt-out search.
  2. Search by first and last name plus state. Find the record matching your age, city and relatives.
  3. Click "Proceed to Opt Out" next to it.
  4. Enter an email address, solve the CAPTCHA and click "Send Verification Email". A throwaway address is fine.
  5. Open the email and click "Verify Opt-Out". Nothing happens until you do.
  6. BeenVerified says removal completes within 24–72 hours. Then run your phone number through freephonetracer.com again to confirm your name no longer shows.
FreePhoneTracer is "powered by NumberGuru", a BeenVerified brand, which is why the opt-out lives on beenverified.com. One BeenVerified opt-out covers FreePhoneTracer, NumberGuru and BeenVerified itself, but sister sites PeopleLooker, PeopleSmart, NeighborWho and Bumper have their own forms. Search for every variation of your name; each record is a separate opt-out. Expect data to creep back within months.
