Remove yourself from FreePeopleSearch
Estimated time: 10 minutes. Difficulty: easy.
Steps
- Go to freepeoplesearch.com, scroll to the footer and click "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" (the page is freepeoplesearch.com/opt-out/). The site runs a bot check first, so keep JavaScript and cookies on. Our tracked link currently lands on the privacy policy — use the footer link instead.
- Search for yourself: first and last name, plus city or state to narrow it down. If nothing matches, try a previous city or a name variant.
- Open the record that is actually yours — check the addresses and relatives, a namesake is easy to remove by mistake.
- Fill in the removal form: first name, last name and an email you can open right now. Solve the CAPTCHA and submit.
- Open the email from FreePeopleSearch and click the confirmation button. Without this click nothing happens.
- The site quotes 5–7 business days. Search for yourself again after a week to confirm.
Not to be confused with SearchPeopleFree or FastPeopleSearch — different sites, different forms. FreePeopleSearch says plainly that it pulls from public databases it "can't delete", so the listing can come back after a refresh. Keep the confirmation email and re-check every 3–6 months.
