Remove yourself from Facecheck

Estimated time: 10–15 minutes. Difficulty: medium — you have to show them your face.

Steps

  1. FaceCheck.ID is a face search engine, not a name search. Go to facecheck.id and upload a clear photo of yourself to see which indexed images match you.
  2. Open the Remove My Photos page (it's in the top menu of the site).
  3. Select every photo of you in the results that you want removed. Miss one and it stays.
  4. Prove it's your face. Fastest: use the selfie capture at the bottom of the page — it's automated and usually approved on the spot. Can't or won't take a selfie? Upload an ID document instead: black out the number, address and date of birth, but the name and photo must stay visible. ID uploads go to manual review.
  5. Your selected photos are hidden from new searches immediately. Within 1–5 business days FaceCheck confirms the match and permanently deletes the photos — and the selfie or ID you uploaded. It's free.
  6. Run your face search again after a week to confirm nothing you selected is still coming up.
FaceCheck only drops the photos you picked; the web pages they came from are untouched, and any new photo of you it crawls later gets indexed again. Photos that don't clearly show you can fail the automatic match — fall back to the ID route for those.
