Remove yourself from EmailFinder

Estimated time: 5–10 minutes. Difficulty: easy.

Steps

  1. Go to emailfinder.com. It lands on PeopleSmart's email-lookup page; that is where your record lives now.
  2. Open the EmailFinder / PeopleSmart opt-out page — the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in PeopleSmart's footer.
  3. Search by name and state (or city/zip), find the record matching your age and city, and click the opt-out button beside it.
  4. Enter an email address, solve the CAPTCHA and click "Send Verification Email".
  5. Open the email and click the verification link. Nothing is processed until you do.
  6. PeopleSmart quotes 72 hours; guides see 3–7 business days. Then search again to confirm.
emailfinder.com now just redirects to PeopleSmart, which is why the opt-out lives on peoplesmart.com. PeopleSmart is part of the BeenVerified family but keeps its own database — the BeenVerified opt-out does NOT clear it, and vice versa. Search for every variation of your name; each record is a separate request. Data returns after refreshes, so re-check every few months.
