Remove yourself from CheckSecrets

Estimated time: 10 minutes. Difficulty: easy.

Steps

  1. Open the CheckSecrets opt-out page.
  2. Enter your first name, last name and state (city if asked) and click Search. Solve the CAPTCHA if one appears.
  3. Find your record — check age, city and relatives, since namesakes are common — and click the green arrow / Continue button on the right.
  4. Fill in the removal form: email address, full name, address and phone number. Use the address and phone exactly as they appear on the listing. Solve the CAPTCHA and click Submit.
  5. Open the email from CheckSecrets (check spam — it can take up to 48 hours to arrive) and click the "Click to Remove your information" link. Nothing happens until you click it. No ID upload is required.
  6. CheckSecrets says 3–7 days. Then search www.checksecrets.com again to confirm.
CheckSecrets (operated as "Truth Now") shares its opt-out flow with PrivateRecords.net, PrivateReports.com and BackgroundCheckers.net, but each site needs its own opt-out. Clear your browser cache before re-checking or you may see a stale copy of your listing. If the form fails, call (855) 754-7951. Expect your data to creep back every few months.
