Remove yourself from Advanced People Search

Estimated time: 10 minutes. Difficulty: easy.

Steps

  1. First, the bad news: advanced-people-search.com no longer has its own site. The domain now redirects to PublicRecordsNow, and its old opt-out form (the one most guides still link) is a 404. Both sites belong to PeopleFinders, and a PeopleFinders opt-out is what removes you from them.
  2. Open the PeopleFinders opt-out page. Skip the identity-monitoring pitch if you see one.
  3. Enter your full name and an email you can open right now, make sure "the subject of the request" is selected, tick the box agreeing to opt-out emails, solve the CAPTCHA and click "Send Request".
  4. Open the email from PeopleFinders and click the link. It expires after 24 hours.
  5. On the removal form, search for yourself (name, city, state), pick your listing and fill in the starred fields to match it. Solve the CAPTCHA and submit. No phone number or ID is needed.
  6. PeopleFinders says to allow about 3 days; DeleteMe reports Advanced People Search listings drop within 48 hours. Search peoplefinders.com for yourself after a few days to confirm.
One PeopleFinders opt-out covers PeopleFinders, Advanced People Search and PublicRecordsNow. If you have several listings (old addresses, name variants), opt each out separately. PeopleFinders treats removal as a courtesy, not a deletion — re-check every few months.
