Remove yourself from Addresses.com

Estimated time: 10–15 minutes. Difficulty: medium.

Steps

  1. Search addresses.com for your name so you know which record (age, city, relatives) is yours.
  2. Open the Addresses.com opt-out link. It hands you to the PeopleConnect Suppression Center (suppression.peopleconnect.us); if it doesn't, go there directly.
  3. Enter an email address and click the "verify email" link PeopleConnect sends you. The link opens the real form.
  4. Enter your date of birth and full legal name, then pick your record from the list.
  5. Choose to receive a verification code by email or SMS and enter it.
  6. Set the record to "Suppressed" and confirm. You get a final confirmation email.
  7. Allow 24–72 hours, then search Addresses.com (and Intelius) again to confirm.
Addresses.com no longer runs its own opt-out — it is an Intelius brand and removals go through the PeopleConnect suppression center, which also covers Intelius, ZabaSearch, US Search, PeopleLooker and other PeopleConnect sites in one go. Use a throwaway email: it becomes the key to your suppression account. Records re-surface after data refreshes, so re-check quarterly.
